I finally decided against reviewing the medias' evergreens, that all of you can look up. Instead, I will lend my voice to the Cambodian electors. They will stay anonymous, because their own country doesn't always allow them to spread their opinion about economy or politics.

"I'm curious, if I will have the opportunity to vote next year. Since my voice counts, I gave it to the opposition. During the last elections, the canvassers sent me away. They told me, that my name is not on their list in three diffrent polling places in the country. I felt so embarrassed." (Male, 30 years old)

More than 70 percent of the Cambodians participate in the elections, political participation is well-respected. After the voting, electors get their thumb colored blue. This explains why the interviewee felt embarrassed.

    The Journalist

I traveled continents to discover the world. What I found was a second home. After my Journalism Studies I moved from Leipzig to Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh. Having reported about the country's development for two years, I returned to Germany with a different point of view.
